Heather Brae Shortbreads has been baking traditional family favourite treats since 1941. The company has always been family owned and managed. From its humble beginnings, in the war years, it has now developed into a professional medium size business based in Melbourne, Victoria.
In 2008 the business moved into larger, purpose fit-out building and invested greatly in ‘state of the art’ new bakery equipment to achieve its growth potential and obtain best practice.
Managing Director, Bassam Wakim, is very passionate about his business having been a hands-on operator for 20 years and enjoys the challenge of hard work, setting goals and achieving best results. This attitude was developed from parents of impeccable work ethics and integrity as well as Bass’s earlier years as a 3 times Australian team representative in the sport of Canoeing.

We attribute our success to our loyal and committed staff and our commitment to exceed our customers’ expectations in both quality products and service.
We produce a range of decadent treats for the café, food service and the retail market. Our products are made from the highest quality extravagant ingredients. Our products are found in airlines, quality cafes and large coffee chains. We supply a range of “Private Label” in store bakery products to all the Supermarket chains. We also specialize in contract manufacture to customers’ specific requirements.
Each treat is made with care and we cram in quality inclusions with large chunks fresh nuts or chewy moist fruits; some blended with a hint of aromatic spices to create divine explosion of flavour with every mouth watering bite. We often hand dip our treats in rich chocolate or healthy yogurt for an added explosion of flavour or goodness.
